Happy Christmas to me!

Coming home from California was hard and I miss the babies already. I adore Miss Lydia to bits, and her brother is a hoot. Fun fact: Oliver's head fits inside a McDonald's Happy Meal box.

However, coming back to KC did mean that I got presents! Wichita's family was extremely, and I mean extremely, generous to me this year.

First up, from his grandmother, money to buy a new knitting bag. I chose this one, a classic messenger bag from Namaste, and I love it. There is a space for my laptop and/or Nook, which I have discovered is extremely handy for carrying knitting patterns. No more printouts crumpled at the bottom of my bag! Although this bag has a nice space for keeping books and patterns flat. Also I like that the pockets are not too deep, so small knitting paraphernalia such as darning needles, stitch markers, etc., won't be lost to oblivion.

After that, it was a very Knitpicks Christmas. Blocking mats, lace blocking wires, blocking pins, a dye kit, a lint  shaver (I'm actually really excited about that one) and a jug of Kookaburra Wool Wash. I am SO EXCITED. I still have Monday off, so I'm going to bust out the dye crockpot and experiment with some real (read: not kool-aid) dyeing. I'm also really pleased to get all these great tools that will make finishing and garment care so much easier.

I had some money hanging out in my paypal account, so I went ahead and bought some patterns for my planned knitting in 2012. I got Huxley for my steeking challenge, Rock Island for my lace challenge, and Zephyr because I love it and it's fun and I found really cute toggle buttons on Etsy. I am even using stash to knit it.

Overall I had a really great vacation and holiday. One of my resolutions for next year is to blog on a more regular basis. Have a wonderful  New Year's Eve!
